Mrs. Brown has a passion for researching, writing, and facilitating discussions using literature, history, and drama as a catalyst for development. Her graduate work included听19th听and 20th听century literature and film听depicting classic social circumstances. Additionally, her training in the dramatic arts ranged from Theatre of the Absurd to modern theatre.听Before devoting her main focus to a growing family,听which included homeschooling for several years, she traveled as an education training consultant for听the prestigious Institute for Research and Reform in Education (IRRE). She has taught college听English Composition and Literature, as well as English as a Second Language in various capacities. Other听professional experience includes wordsmithing website content and business marketing correspondence for local and national companies. Publications include numerous articles in听Simply KC Magazine, Women’s Edition Magazine,听and听The Washburn Review.听as well as a story in the book听Heavenly Healing: Testimonies from听Lay Apostles for Christ the Returning King (DFOT).

Mrs. Brown encourages cultivating one’s curiosity, leading to critical thinking and a deeper understanding of how souls experience the world. She has a love of words鈥攖heir intention and inspiration, their ability to engage, humor, cut, and silence鈥攁ll containing a history (etymology) connecting听then听迟辞听now. Using these powerful听little characters to analyze cultural topics should be preserved and imparted with vigor. Mrs. Brown treasures her time spent with BC students and believes English Composition is essential.

In her spare time, she supports local pregnancy care centers and is a member of the听KC, MO听Rachel’s Vineyardretreat team. Also a听student of martial arts, she is currently working on her brown belt (and eventual blackbelt) in Israeli Krav Maga. Gardening, cooking, and teatime make her very happy. Mrs. Brown is blessed听to reside with Mr. Brown and their five children in a cottage in the woods near Lecompton, Kansas.
